Students at Lillooet Secondary School appreciate the opportunity to participate in the Hockey Academy as an elective in their education. Teachers and coaches Paul Beland and Mindy Casselman work to build students’ skills and abilities in hockey as well as their physical health. Lytton students in Grades 6-8 enjoyed the opportunity to experience what it is like to work in the fields of plumbing, water management and esthetics. Students also learned how to conduct a pre-trip auto inspection. These hands-on learning opportunities allow students to explore different occupations and build confidence in their options for the future. Lytton Grades 6 - 8 students Mr. Lewis’ class hosted a Family Tea at George M Murray. Both students and families enjoyed the opportunity to learn from each other and to take time to eat the delicious treats. Students at Cayoosh Elementary School were able to participate in a presentation on deer hide scraping with Dolores McDonald and Deanna Starr, Aboriginal Student Support Workers.
