Overview

The Gold Trail School District encompasses three distinct First Nations, Metis and nineteen Bands, with the total number of First Nation students making up 57% of the student population in the school district.

The school district is committed to improving school success for all students and efforts such as making literacy a top priority and giving secondary students the skills for a more successful transition to post secondary programs are beginning to have a positive impact in First Nations communities.  The district is committed to continuing to listen to First Nations people to come to understand together how to best meet the needs of First Nations learners.
